Elizabeth (Betsy) Redmond, PhD, MMSc, RDN, is a Medical Education Manager at Genova Diagnostics, and has worked in the laboratory field since 2005. She completed her Master of Medical Science degree at Emory University in Atlanta, and her Doctorate in Nutrition at the University of Georgia. Her Master's thesis was a case-control study of the impact of dietary fiber and calcium intakes on colorectal cancer, and her doctoral dissertation evaluated the impact of diabetes self-care activities on A1C levels
Dr. Redmond's previous positions include: Nutrition Director at Clark Atlanta University Head Start, Research Nutritionist on the National Institutes of Health's Women's Health Trial Feasibility Study in Minority Populations at Emory University, Project Coordinator for National Institutes of Health ALLHAT (Antihypertensive Lipid Lowering Treatment Trial), as well as working in private practice. She is past Chair of Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine (DIFM).
