Functional Medicine Approach to Osteoporosis Prevention and Treatment


Dr. Elizabeth Board is a board certified Anesthesiologist and Pain Medicine physician who currently practices non-narcotic pain management, acupuncture, and Functional Medicine fulltime. She was the second MD to be certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine in Georgia and is a frequent facilitator for IFM.

She is the founder of Atlanta Functional Medicine, a clinic in Alpharetta, Georgia, where she collaborates with a group of talented functional medicine practitioners to seek the root cause of illness and dysfunction, and create personalized treatment plans for a variety of health concerns.

One of Dr. Board's special interests is treating osteoporosis using functional medicine instead of bisphosphonates, when possible. To date her success rate is has been virtually 100%.

Dr. Brown earned his doctorate degree from The School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. He then went on to complete an 18-month clinical residency program in Tacoma, Washington. Dr. Brown has also completed additional coursework in functional medicine and has spoken at functional and integrative medicine conferences across the United States on the topic of laboratory testing.

In his work with Genova?s Medical Affairs department, Dr. Brown enjoys consulting with practitioners from all medical disciplines and providing the support needed to help improve clinical outcomes. In his private practice, Dr. Brown helps athletes and active individuals to reach their highest levels of health and performance through his advanced clinical approach.
